Plumbing Services

Why should I choose a Master Plumber?

In New Zealand, most sanitary plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying is ‘restricted’. That means it’s illegal to do it yourself because of the health and safety risks. You also risk expensive mistakes and even voiding your insurance. When you use a plumbing firm that is a member of Master Plumbers, you know they are authorised to carry out the work they do.

To be accepted for membership, Master Plumbers undergo an ongoing Quality Assurance review of their business practices. This sets Master Plumbers apart from others in the trade.

Homeowners have the backing of the 12-month Master Plumbers Guarantee, protecting you in the event of substandard workmanship.

Do you test & install backflow prevention?

Yes, we install backflow prevention systems as well as testing plumbing systems to establish whether backflow is occurring.

Why do I need backflow prevention?

Because homes and businesses use chemicals and other potential contaminants, backflow can be a major threat to people’s health and well-being. At its worst, backflow into the public drinking-water supply could cause death or serious injury, so we all have a responsibility to help reduce this risk.

New Zealand has strict legislation for the prevention of backflow to protect the safety of our drinking water. The installation of backflow prevention devices is mandatory and is required in accordance with NZ legislation.

Under current Local and Central Government legislation, backflow prevention is required to be installed by the property owner and must be installed immediately when requested.

All annual checking of the operation and maintenance of any backflow prevention device is to be carried out by the property owner.
